YOUTH !
Open Arms Youth Crew

Sunday Meetings: 9:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

The Open Arms Youth Crew is the youth contingent of Church of the Open Arms. We are a small group of folks, ages ranging from twelve to eighteen. Our theological and ethical commitments are one in the same with Church of the Open Arms; we strive to be a community of liberation, joining Jesus in his ministry of reconciliation. Practically speaking, that means we learn together about faith and social issues, volunteer our time and energy with the hope of helping others, and sometimes just have fun together. Some things we have done in the past: written letters to politicians urging them not to attack Iran, helped plant veggies by digging holes at a community garden, attended OKC Amnesty International’s Human Rights Film Festival, gone bowling, and more.

Our primary meeting times are on Sunday. We meet before church on Sunday at 9:45 and discuss different things that are important to us.  The topics we discuss are quite varied, ranging from books of the bible, baptism as undoing oppressions, how language can be used to dehumanize others, etc. We also meet after the worship celebrations at 12:15 p.m. Usually, this time is spent hanging out with each other and catching up since we don’t always get to see each other during the week. We hope you will come to hang out with us and get involved. If you ever have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Peace,
